Unveiling Galaxies and Supermassive Black Holes with Big Data
The processes driving the co-evolution of galaxies and their super-massive black holes largely remain a debated issue in extragalactic astrophysics. With large surveys, I have derived stellar masses, star formation rates, dust properties, and AGN (Active Galactic Nucleus) contributions of galaxies by the state-of-art SED (spectral energy distribution) technique. In the meantime, I have investigated morphology and shapes of galaxies to understand whether active galaxies play a role in galaxy formation and evolution over cosmic time. I will also show our recent results on identifying AGN host galaxies by machine learning techniques.
